This was a fantastic show. Due to low ticket sales, they played in the bar area of the Newport, which is a very small and intimate space. You can hear them mention this during the between song banter. We met and hung out with these guys before the show at the bar next door to the Newport at the time (called The Street Scene, now a Chipotle). Sid dedicated "The Light Gets In The Way" to Marybeth who was my wife at the time. The original bass player had left the band by this time, and Sid made several comments about them likely not being together much longer. Sadly, they did break up later that year.
I have been recording shows since the mid 1980's. Many of these shows were traded and widely circulated on cassette tape back in the day. This effort is to create a fresh transfer of my master recordings from the original media and provide an unaltered version (except volume boost if needed and/or fade) of these shows. I will include as much information about the equipment used to create the recording, as well as the process and tools used for the transfer as I can. Enjoy!
