This was an awesome show, but not without it's issues for sure.
I don't think any rock and roll type band had ever played at this
venue or even at this college before. And unfortunately you can tell
that the college sound guy was only used to working for plays,
orchestras and the college jazz band. It appeared that they were
pushed into an early set break so they could be told they were
playing too loud! It was not too loud, it was more that the sound
guy couldn't get the mix right causing some vocal distortions in
that first set. The second set went a little better but you could tell
that they were not pleased being told to play quieter and soon
cranked themselves back up much to the pleasure of the audience.
They did a meet and greet after the show and I got a picture made
with Cesar Rosas and Cougar Estrada and all the band signed one
of their setlists that my son and I both got from the stage hand!
A scan of the set list is enclosed and you can tell that they varied
the second set quite a bit, probably due to the problem mentioned.
This was not a sold out show.... venue holds 604 people when full!

On a side note, I grew up in this quiet little town of Lake Jackson,
graduating both from high school and from this college there,
where I played in the jazz band; although back then it was called
Brazosport Junior College. I left that town in 1975, but go back
quite often because my parents still live there.
