I had general admission floor tickets for this show, so I stood approximately 50' back, in the centre. This was my second time seeing Los Lobos as an opening act at Rogers Arena. This actually turned out a lot better than I thought it would. At the show I found Los Lobos' sound very poor and their performance was perhaps a little less inspired than the last time when they opened for Clapton. But I guess it was just the condition I was in at the time because this sounds pretty good. I think I just couldn't wait for Neil Young and wanted the openers to be done and over with. There is a messy tape flip in the middle of Dream in Blue. I guess I lost track of time? Not much missing though, maybe 15-20 seconds. There were more people than for the Sadies, but the floor was still only about half filled for Los Lobos. I was so out of it I actually thought they were going to play Voodoo Child (Slight Return) when I heard the first few seconds of Angel Dance.
After Los Lobos I managed to make my way up those stairs and into the lobby to get a drink of water. The people forming the $9 beer line merged directly with the bathroom line going out the door. My legs felt like jello and I had a hard time getting back down stairs to the floor. Once Neil Young started I was fine and stood the whole show without issue. There was that same damn blues song that kept replaying in between sets though haha.
