After the 2 initial shows at the King's Cross Cinema (14th and 28th July), Lou played a few more dates in and around London before he went into the studio in August to start recording "Transformer" with Bowie and Ronson. Recording complete, he and the Tots then went out on tour again in September and this show at the Edmonton Sundown was one of the first of that tour. This is a fine, enthusiastic performance by Lou. His vocals are good, his voice holds up well, and the band are nice and tight. There are no songs from "Transformer" - presumably the Tots haven't learned them yet. It's hard to tell on this poor recording, but he's quite talkative between some of the songs - he announces "Heroin" as "for the guys out front"....

This show was reviewed (quite differently!) in both "Melody Maker" and "Sounds". I've included scans of both reviews - make up your own mind!

NOTE: despite Mr Shaar Murray's report, I am as certain as I can be that "Venus In Furs" was NOT played at this show!

This mono audience recording is only fair quality. The cassette was dated "October 1972" when I originally received it. However, all the contemporary documentation I have seen relates to a show on 29 September, so I think my copy was misdated.
