Lou's short summer 1980 tour of mainland Europe to promote Growing Up In Public was a "big-stadium" event, playing to audiences of 60,000+ - the biggest of Lou's career. Both Lou and band rose to the occasion with tight, impassioned performances and an impressive set list. More than half the songs from the new album get an airing and there's also a 4 song selection from "Berlin". The last 3 songs contain lengthy instrumental sections (during which I suspect Lou left the stage). Reviews (in Spanish) and photos from both this show and the abandoned Madrid show were published in "Popular" magazine, July 1980.

This is an ok audience recording - the sound quality starts out a bit murky but it improves after the first few songs (and is then variable throughout). The crowd are apparent between songs but not too obtrusive. It sounds as if the recorder was quite far away from the stage.

A soundboard recording of this show supposedly exists but it is not in circulation.
