Info: Lou Reed's 1973 album presented in full for the 2007 Sydney Festival, featuring Lou Reed, Antony, Sharon Jones, Steve Hunter, Fernando Saunders, Rob Wasserman, Tony Smith, The Australian Youth Choir and a string and brass section. This show was performed over three sold out nights at the State Theatre and I was fortunate to catch both the Friday and Saturday shows, an awesome experience.

Recorded from the dress circle, about dead centre. Fade in on track 1, fade out on track 12, some audience applause deleted, fade in on track 13 and fade out on track 16 then fade in and out on track 17. Some small amount of gain applied but no other filtering. Track 17 recorded the previous night, Friday the 19th January in similar position.

I wish I could have been at the State Theatre for one of these performances. Thankfully, Downunder Discs was there and made this excellent recording. Thanks for all your Bowie and Lou recordings, mate!

There were other performances of "Berlin" around the world but this must surely be one of the best recordings to appear. Samples below should convince you. Enjoy this one! And thanks to all who have shared their recordings since the sad news of Lou's passing. I still can't quite believe he has gone ...
