For one week in 1991, The Lounge Lizards ruled the Knitting Factory. They played two shows a night there for a solid week. This is the early show from their last night. I recorded one other show from that week which I posted here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=273410

In that it was the last night, I remember that whenever John Lurie wasn't speaking or playing, he was holding ice on his lips.

Overall, the recording is decent but there are some flaws throughout. For example, I flipped tapes in the middle of "One Big Yes" which was unnecessary. Also, perhaps more reprehensibly, I cut off the end of "Big Heart" - my apologies.

I think I did trade this recording a bit on tape in the early to mid 1990's, but this is the first time that I've digitized it and am sharing it here on DIME.

Here is the setlist:

1) John Lurie's Intro (1:24)
2) Remember What's In There (1:57)
3) Evan's Trip To Mombasa (9:20)
4) King Precious (15:54)
5) Happy Old Joy (16:11)
6) One Big Yes (5:49)
7) No Pain For Cakes (12:00)
8) Not a Rondo (16:11)
9) Calvin / Big Heart (Cut) (18:24)
10) John Lurie Speaks (1:47)
11) Unknown (9:25) (Something "Melange"?)

Could someone please help with a name for Track 11?

The lineup:

John Lurie - Sax
Michael Blake - Sax
Steve Bernstein - Trumpet
Bryan Carrott - Vibes
Jane Scarpantoni - Cello
Michele Navazio - Guitar
Oren Bloedow - Bass
