boombox's notes september 2023:
Four years on from their supposed "farewell tour", the boys were back in the UK for yet more shows. This gig only happened as a result of the Bournemouth show being pulled, but fortunately, hero local promoter, Alan Jones (yes, he of Amen Corner and Judas Jump fame), was able to get the band back in Wales, playing to a near capacity crowd. Rather than focusing just on FC, the setlist danced around all the albums, with 'Neil's Song' getting its first ever outings this tour and what was Arthur's traditional set-closer, 'Singing Cowboy', back too.
I have sat on this one for a long time, but am only releasing it as no other recordings from the tour seem to have show up. The reason? The sharp-eyed amongst you will have noticed that recent file tagging on my uploads often includes a title (mainly to differentiate recordings on my phone!). The title for this one refers to Rusty's comments at the start of the encore: I don't think I have ever attended a gig with such a rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful audience, many of whom jabbered inanely throughout the whole show. Sound was very good, but unfortunately there is a permanent undercurrent of chatter all the way through - you have been warned! There is also a little additional background noise at one point as I frantically changed my video camera battery between songs.
