notes:
-I am pretty sure this one is from Wes, as he used to travel on biz and see shows or just go out of town to see them in Philly/New Haven/Boston areas -
I can't be 100% sure though, but I checked with Ian and it's not one of his - sure sounds like Wes to me when listening to it, therefore:
-another from my archives, this is one of Wes' master recordings I am sure due to hearing his cheering on the tape, the abrupt cuts at the end of each tune
that he used to do to save tape, and the "sound" of his Aiwa recorder - this makes it a 2nd gen tape for me. Wes used to get a table as close as possible
and just put the Aiwa right on it and use the internal mics - he was not a quality buff at all - was happy if he could just listen to it 1-3 more times
again and likely never again - luckily a friend and me used to make copies. I used to be picky with his stuff because the sound just wasn't that great,
but this is still quite listenable to: in the "B+/B" range - it's clear, it's just low-quality Aiwa shit.
-this is an excellent set of music - Lyle gets out there and really can fill out the sound depite it being just a trio, and Erskine is just smokin' (Wes
loved him - another reason I think it's his). Similiar to Metheny type stuff from mid-80's without Pat.
-mastered and seeded by matt23.
