Magmasystems Notes:

I have been seeding Magma shows on DIME for several years, including some rare things that have only appeared in the "inner circles" of
Magma collectors (ie: the KA Rehearsals). Sharing audio and video bootlegs contributes to a sense of community, especially among fans
of relatively obscure bands like Magma. Many people have out a lot of effort into recording and sharing the music and memorabilia.
People like Passion91 and Maahnt and RapidEye and Juhab and Hanwaker and Olvator. For my part, I have the Kohntarkosz blog,
which attempts to spread info about "classic" Magma to the English-speaking fan base. There are many people on DIME who have sent
me their own recordings to seed. And, the hidden work of "Trahnsferheur" in getting us the French Gentleman series of recordings
cannot be appreciated enough.

But there are still many people who are hoarding recordings. There are some, like the famous "Memo", who have an incredible show
from Toulouse 1972 (almost soundboard quality and the only known live recording of Dotz Hundin). From what I understand, he would
like to share with us, but he cannot due to promises he made to the original taper. And even though none of us are happy about that,
we respect his decision and his commitment to keep his promise.

However, there are others who hoard tapes either out of laziness, lack of knowledge of how to do a digital transfer, or out of some
special sense of "gratification" that they have something that others do not have.

We have been patiently waiting for recordings of the Magma shows that were played in New York and Washington in September 2010.
There were hundreds of people at the New York show, and I saw many people with audio and video recorders. But nothing has appeared yet.

There is one long-time DIME member in particular who taped the New York shows. As well, he has video of Magma playing at the Wetlands in
1999. He has downloaded every single Magma recording that we have shared in DIME, as well as many other recordings. We have been asking
him to share his recordings here, but so far, he has not responded.

So, what can we do? Can we provide special incentives to these people to share their recordings?

I have a rare 1972 tape of Magma playing in France that has never been shared before. The quality of this tape is really good. I have
some other Magma shows to seed that have never been shared here.

And, I am going to wait until the New York 2010 show appears here before I share these shows.

I feel that I have done my share here for the Magma community, and now it's time for some others to give back to the community.
