yet another in glasnostrd19's Masters of Jazz series.
This one has some jazz and some jazz fusion in it.
comments:
This was originally made to have a 79:43 min. disc 1
(with tracks 1-7) but I've re-distributed it for posting.
I recorded this with 3 tape flips making it quite hard to
piece it all together in order. I was able to not miss
anything (that's why there's 3 tape flips) and have
spliced the ends so you may not be able to tell where
they were. I'm pretty sure the order is right, and almost
certain the whole show is in here. This was the only time
I saw Maha with a beard (Jim, not John). I had forgotten
how good this came out, and it's a nice show (for 80's Maha.)
It's nothing like 70's Maha. but should be interesting listening
for many. there weren't alot of Maha. shows after 1985.
This may have been the last incarnation of it (so far).
Although it has a CD extraction in it, this is from one
of my good CD's, a promising sign of that is that I didn't
have to remaster the extraction at all, which means it was
made well after I figured out how to do this properly so I
DON'T have to do a new transfer, which would have been a
pain with this show. The end result came out well. this has
been circulated some in cassette copy form, now it can be had
with no analog copying lineage at all, just a clean digitizing
to CD. just something to do besides shovel snow and watch
NFL playoffs on a Sunday afternoon.
