My pre-cruise knowledge of Marillion was extremely limited since I was only familiar with "Script For A Jester's Tear" and "Misplaced Childhood". I hadn't heard a single note of post-Fish era Marillion. What was plainly obvious was that the ship was crowded with Marillion fans, many who had come from a great distance to see their favorite band. Based on their enthusiasm, I knew the concert was not to be missed. Being unfamiliar with most of the songs left me with a feeling that I had seen a good, but not great show. I had that same feeling during subsequent listenings while preparing this recording until a few days ago when I went for a long drive and gave it my full attention at high volume. It was indeed an excellent performance. I only wish I had realized it at the time.
