Marmalade
John Peel's BBC Sunday Show,
Paris Theatre, London, UK
Recorded & broadcast on 14 December 1971.

Ace Rimmer MONO master.

I knew nothing about this band until 4 years ago when I heard this recording on youtube by accident. Finally received it in lossless format recently together with a
bunch of other recordings from Ace Rimmer (Thank you so much Ace!!!). Ace used to live in the UK at that time, and recorded many radio shows on his home equipment. There
were times when he didn't have good reception, but this show sounds great.

On this date Marmalade followed Gypsy. I will present Gypsy show in the near future when I get time to check everything that needs to be checked before posting on dime.

Marmalade started in 1961 as a pop band (The Gaylords until 1966) out of Glasgow, and they remained a pop band throughout the 60s. They issued a bunch of singles in
that period. Many musicians passed through the ranks of Marmalade (and The Gaylords) throughout the decades that they were active.

On this recording they are rockin' hard, and that is what I like. John Peel is heard throughout the show, sometimes at the beginning, and sometimes at the end of the
tracks. Track #01 reminds me of "I'm a Man" by Chicago.

I received files in MONO wav format. I've converted them to flac level 8 with TLH, and created info file.
