Gig Notes:

MoR were on a short European tour, mainly covering festivals, so it was really nice to see a Glasgow date added after Download. Might have been something to do with Chris and his liking for malt whisky.

Chris Goss and the guys put on an amazing show. When I saw the setlist on the floor, I couldnt read it, but did notice there were lots of songs listed, so reckoned on a good night. Chris started proceedings with its gonna be a long one. And then theres the set. The set ended not much less than two hours later. There was no encore, but as they had overrun their allotted set time by 40 minutes, the venue staff were trying to empty the place as soon as the band came off stage.

What a band, Chris still has a great voice, possibly due to his intake of malt whisky (he claimed), and the guys were really on form. The acoustic middle section was particularly entertaining with John Leamy coming out from behind his kit to play acoustic guitar on Lookin' To Get Rite and then a small keyboard (described by Chris as a cheap Casio) on his lap for Hey Diana. They played a great selection from the back catalogue and whilst it would be easy to question why they didnt play this song or that song, the setlist was excellent.

There were a couple of technical hitches through the set. One of Chris leads shorting out, Paul's bass strap giving way, leading to some improvised bass playing until Mark replaced the strap mid song. The road crew sorted things out rapidly, with one of them being Chris guitar tech Mark, who was also given praise for making one of his guitars. Chris went on to praise his Oxbow guitars, so I have placed a link below.

What a great show. I certainly hope the Masters get back sooner rather than later, and on a headlining tour at that.

Recording notes and sound quality:

Recorded from the RH PA. I boosted the volume by +7db, but that's all it needed.
