Saturday was a great day on the Orion Stage despite the rain, the cold and the mud. After seeing the Heartless Bastards, we hit this stage for Jerry Lee Lewis > Mavis Staples > Gov't Mule and ZZ-Top.
Mavis was outstanding as usual and started the set with two tracks from her new album "One True Vine," which was produced by Wilco's Jeff Tweedy. She also played "Far Celestrial Shore" from Vine.
I had to wear a poncho due to the rain during some of the sets, but I can't remember if this was one of them. There is some noise later in the set and it could have been rain on the poncho, but who knows. It's not terribly annoying but I wish it wasn't there.
