I believe that this was Mavis' first ever show in Brisbane.
She's toured Australia 8 times since 2004 but not been north of the Bluesfest.
Can it be true?

Well this was a short but super sweet show by Ms Staples and her great band.
This tour was just before Australia went into lockdown earlier this year.
If this was the last show i saw i would have been happy.
Thankfully Australia handled the pandemic reasonably well and after a few tough times we are now largely back to normal.
For the rest of the world dealing with 2nd and 3rd waves please look to New Zealand and even us slackers off the coast of NZ for how to deal with this.

Amazing that in 1971 the Staples Singers sang-
"Keep talkin' bout the president, won't stop air pollution
Put your hand on your mouth when you cough, that'll help the solution"
Amen to that.
And how about You Are Not Alone as an anthem of iso-lockdown?
