::: Quality... Nowhere near hi-fi but a relatively clear distant low gen recording in what sounds like a large hall with no audience interference (maybe due to monstrous volume!). By the 3rd song the vocals sound like they were overloading in the PA somewhat. Check samples to see if you can handle the vibe or to get psyched for its ear-bleeding potential.
::: Warts: Scarcely any once I repaired all dropouts & fixed some volume fluctuations. Quality is what it is but it's a fairly smooth sailing ship once it leaves port.
::: NOT the same as the common Essen 1970 show from the boot with Savoy Brown & Fotheringay.
::: In April 1971, May Blitz & Patto supported the Faces on a brief German tour thru Dusseldorf (14th), Hamburg (15th), Frankfurt (16th) & Munich (17th). Here's their entire Munich set.

CoolSonics 106 ::: Thanks to the original taper & traders! ::: Corrections welcome ::: To use an old admittedly sexist expression, here's a "balls to the wall" original stoner rock band that'll shiver the timbers of most any listener. I encountered & grooved on May Blitz from a relatively early time period, as their first album was in cut-out bins all over the USA & I landed one at Woolworths for about 59 cents, sealed. I didn't know who they were, but the freaky looking chick on the front cover along with the title of the opening track, "Smoking The Day Away" convinced me it might be some pennies well spent. Already a firm believer in the transformative power of the first Blue Cheer album, I felt the May Blitz wax was appropriately drenched in electricity & mayhem to liven up an evening in front of the speakers on a number of occasions. It was a number of years before I finally ran across "The 2nd Of May" album, but both have remained in the collection in some form ever since those days. Hard not to be impressed with the power & untamed force. This one features a number of tracks from "The 2nd Of May" album, in untamed form. If anyone has any additional recordings aside from the Essen boot & this one, it would be warmly appreciated from this end of the world & likely others.
More recordings on the way, making up for years of slow netspeed. Kudos to Zongo for life support, Lochner for mikes & much more, & to Fast Freddie for runnin' Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace) for over 30 years of trading & friendship. Mountains of gratitude to Davmar, D.White, Sanchez, Elliot, The Florida Kid, Kloiber, Zingg, JTW, Bershaw, Boston Gold, Weeks, Dixon, Moore, Gough & SO many more for all that collecting & sharing... Royal thanks to The Man In The Palace, Doc Tinker, Brinkhoffs, Barely Eatin', Reel Master Gaule, Parrish & all the traders who housed me thru my music acquisition & travel years. Hats off to Brother Kent, Uncle Jake, Little Queenie (& her neighbor Frank) & his honor Ptomaine Thomas. Glasses raised to Byron for musical horizon expansion & much obliged to J & Thurston for keepin' my concert fires burnin' since my continental shift. Thanks to the Mods for keepin' DIME alive. Enjoy, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
Do whatever you want with it except sell it, 'cause that ain't cool!
