This is largely uncirculated except for a couple of tunes from a poor
1st gen copy I made over 25 years ago. I have since acquired the master
and am happy to present the entire show here for the first time.
A very good recording of MF--his chops are paying the price for overdoing
it a bit the previous night in Joliet, IL, but there are still some
spectacular moments. This was recorded with a Sony stereo walkman,
model unknown.

As with the previous night, the highlight of this recording is the epic
20-minute version of Latino Lovewalk. Unlike the previous night, this time MF
takes a solo of his own, ending on a E above double C. It doesn't sound
entirely intentional, but wouldn't be nice to have accidents like that? He then
has the trumpets do a group improvisation as opposed to the individual solos the
night before. A weaker and shorter version of this tune was later recorded on
the Storm album. If you haven't heard the full-length epic, this is what MF
is all about.
