Notes: Love the River Theater, great scene with incredible light show all night long... two opening bands played late, JGB didn't come on until nearly midnight, and played till 3 AM!
Love the River Theater, but hate that they set up their PA stacks right on the dance floor, well below the level of the rest of the club - it made for a muddy mix all night long. Furthermore, the bass was very boomy the for the first two songs, then way quiet for the rest of the show. Therefore, I made the following EQ adjustments in Soundforge 4.5, after comparing notes with James: For the first two songs, I dropped the bass floor by 3 dB below 120 Hz, and applied a 2.2 db gain (2 dB wide) at 14,000 hz., since the P.A. was on the floor. For the rest of the show, I applied a 1.2 db gain at 75Hz (2 db width), 1.3 db gain (2 dB wide) at 144 Hz, and the same 2.2 db gain at 14,000 hz. I hope you like the sound, I think the music has much more room to breath after the adjustments.
I know there are a few other recordings of this show. Please feel welcome to torrent them or upload them to the Live Music Archive. This show will be uploaded to the LMA shortly in the JGB section. Enjoy! - PeterT
