Total Time :::
::: Obsessive completist collectors only AUD. Everyone advised to check samples before downloading.
::: Warts: a giant one - recording is distant, noisy & rough. #1 even sounds like someone out in the AUD is playing a horn & harmonica?!?
::: #1 introduction may include opening bit of #2 - too noisy to really tell.
::: The Meters were opening for The Rolling Stones on their "Black & Blue" tour.
::: "Trick Bag", the new album by The Meters, was already finished & was released in July (a few weeks after this gig).
::: MANY thanks should go to the French Gentleman for tapin' & DIMER unclemeat for facilitatin'.
::: If there is refining needed in the setlist department, do oblige.
Recording Information ::: unknown cassette recorder & microphone(s) -> master audience cassette tape (stereo or mono?) -> original taper's 1st generation mono reel-to-reel.
Playback 2013(?) ::: 1st generation mono reel-to-reel -> Edirol UA-1EX interface -> Cool Edit -> wavs -> flacs.
Remastering 2014-12-xx ::: 1st generation mono 1 channel flac - TLH -> wav -> Audacity [fades, volume adjustments, conversion to 2 channel mono] -> CD Wave (track splits) -> flacs (Trader's Little Helper) -> yr ears. Speed (pitch) seemed OK. First uploaded week of 2014-02-14.
Line-up ::: Art Neville - keyboards, vocals // Leo Nocentelli - electric guitar, vocals // George Porter, Jr. - electric bass guitar // Joseph "Zigaboo" Modeliste - drums // Cyril Neville - percussion, vocals.
Nothing here ever commercially released to my knowledge. If I'm wrong, please advise & I'll take the offending trax offline.
Thanks to the original taper & traders, The French Gentleman & DIMER unclemeat! ::: Corrections welcome ::: What a killer time for the Meters but you're going to have to be a seriously hardcore fantatic to cruise thru this one. But maybe someone needs it & I said I'd get it out there... Listen, enjoy, show appreciation, share, give, spread peace. Yers truly, Knees
