Taper notes:
More classic Meters, once again here at the now long-gone Tramps in NYC, late show -- a pre-halloween show (I'm sure they did play ON Halloween on this run, but I had a date with the Jerry Garcia Band at Brendan Byrne Arena on this halloween). BARN55 is a funkier more focused performance and I think better sounding recording than the show from BARN55 on 5/15 -- really right out of the gate with Here Comes The Meter Man, Rigor Mortis, Soul Island (really sweet), and Change/Reform -- this was "late model" Meters at their best. Note that this lineup was from before Leo was replaced by Brian Stoltz. This was a stealth recording (they didn't officially allow taping until they became the Funky Meters) with my old Sony stereo mic. Go get some FUNK!
