I’ve been listening to the Monkees a bit lately, and it reminded me of this tape, and I’d thought I transfer it to disc for the first time and share it. I do know there is another version of this show, but I don’t know how this compares to Chris’s. I might bet his is better as I think he had better microphones. Mine was the Sony ECM 757, if I recall correctly. Still this is not a bad recording, and I wouldn’t share it if I didn’t think it would be worth your time to download. It sounds as if I moved during the show as the vocals become less then more clear as the show goes on. The band is always clear. There is very little crowd noise. I did EQ this for my taste. If that sort of thing bothers you, please do not download. It is interesting to hear the introduction. It is obvious Ms. Campos knows nothing of Mike beyond the fact that he was once a Monkee. She also reads off a list of songs to pump up the crowd, and anyone who knew anything about Mr. Nesmith knew there was no chance of hearing any of them on this night. Tracks done on the fly, so they may not be perfect. Enjoy.
