This was my first time seeing The Michael Packer Blues Band, as an
offer came up to see this guy for free who could refuse right ?, so
as usual i was prepared to record the show as i usually record most
shows i go to. Not knowing anything about this band or members i did
not know what to expect, so when i got there i sought after Michael
Packer to meet Rob Poparozzi first and we chatted quick then he said
that's Michael Packer oh well!, anyway i get chatting with Michael who
happens to be a friend of a friend, and ask him what kind of blues he's
playing etc, getting to the point of asking him is it alright to record
the show and he say's sure no problem, off to a good start here.

Michael Packer is a veteran bluesman/songwriter who's been performing live
since the age of 15 when he started performing in New York's Greenwich
Village, throughout the years he has put out several albums and opened for
many of the greats past and present ,recently opening for 95 year old buddy
of Robert Johnson, Dave "Honeyboy" Edwards.

About the show:

So Michael Packer's Blues Band starts cranking out some old blues standards
like "Downtown","Thrill Is Gone","Come On Out Tonight" setting the pace for
and old fashioned good time at the Turning Point before settling into one of
Michael's original's called "Mr.Packer's Blues"

Next song is an old cover called "No Money Down" featuring Rob Poparozzi on
vocal's & harmonica ( Original Blues Brother's Band ),currently fronting the
legendary Blood Sweat Tears band this guy can sing and boy can he play the
harmonica like nobody's business as keybords!

Most of the song's played were cover's, but this band brought their own brand
of blues to the Turning Point especially obvious when Eddie Jackson helps out
on vocal's during "Back At That Bar Again" and Michael Packer throws down on
Molly Hatchets "Can't You See", all in all a great show, good time.

If you don't know the Michael Packer Blues Band and like blues then check out
this recording, and get out to one of his shows.

Nice audience recording and performance
