Show Notes:
This was a 'fill in' show, but having a great trade-agreement with the Fair (I hang posters in Fairbanks, in exchange for being guest listed for the shows)...figured 'why not check out this country band with 2 Grammy nominations?', due to already being there.
And truth be told, it was a pretty good decision!
Willie, Johnny and Hank Sr. are 'country' to me, but as you can see from this setlist, this was a 'classic rock' country show.
And the bass player, he reminded me of a cross between Chris Cornell's short brother and a local DJ we have here in Fairbanks who goes by VMax. Dude was hilarious...
Anyhow, this came out pretty fantastic, and is a bit outside my normal 'wheelhouse', but in the name of checking out something 'new', and spreading the tuneage, here ya go!
They played nearly 110 minutes too; most Fair acts are contracted for a 75 minute 'minimum', and then it's up to them if they want to continue (based on the crowd)...this show was only half-sold (2000-2200 there, maybe), but they still put on an excellent show.
The seemingly 15 minute band-intro version of "La Grange" should bring a smile to your face.
This show is smooth like good bourbon, give it a shot! (HAHAHA)
THANK YOU Dennis.
FUCK YOU Hagar!
The Magpie Salute...T-Minus 10 days!
and lots of other good stuff!
---Dr. Deep is, strangely, soon heading to the midland
