This was an interesting gig. I tried something Ive never done before - I taped from the barrier. I chose to do this for several reasons - first of all, the gig was basically in a high-ceilinged stone hallway and the acoustics were terrible. I was worried if I was too far away from the stacks, the reverb would be overwhelming. As it is, theres some pretty noticeable hall reverb. Second, apparently the Seaport Hotel restricted the band from soundchecking - they hit the stage with just a basic line check right before they went on. I figured if the sound was gonna be rough anyways (And, from what Ive heard from others, it was rough further back), I may as well still enjoy myself and just see what comes of the recording. Finally, it didnt seem to be much of a Bosstones crowd - looking around during their set, very few people knew anything other than the big hits. It felt good to be up front at a show where they didnt have a big diehard fanbase. Fortunately, this also meant not much crowd noise on this recording. All things considered (Pun intended), I think I walked away with the best recording that was possible of this particular gig.

As always, don't sell or convert to lossy.
