The Davis Octet made a tour of South American cities in May 1974, and they were booked for three nights in Rio de Janeiro (May 23-25: Thursday-Saturday) and three in So Paulo (May 28 and 31, June 1: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday). The May 31 concert was canceled on account of Davis's health problems, so the group played an additional concert on June 2 (Sunday). Several recordings from this tour exist (made by Liebman or others in the band). Thanks to Lulu Pereira for help with these sessions.
