This is a remastered version of torrent #449029
Miles Davis 1975-06-10 Bottom Line Club, New York [AUD]
which is still on the tracker (and probably should stay there, in case someone wants the untreated show)
This is a wonderful show from June 1975, just a few weeks before Miles went into self-imposed retirement for six years. Compared to Agharta and Pangea from earlier that year, it is much more relaxed (more like the second CDs of those shows). The first track of the first set has the "wall of sound" typical for Funk/Prelude Pt. 1, after that it gets softer with a quite intimate atmosphere. A lot of off-mike playing by the horns, though.
The sound of the original version was not bad, but a bit muffled, typical for an audience recording. With the remastering, it's quite listenable now, a huge sound improvement to my ears. It's much easier to follow what's going on in the music. You can hear all the details, like Cosey's weird "textures". This is complex music, and possibly some of the best ever played on this planet. Paul Tingen, in his fabulous book "Miles Beyond", speculates that one reason the music wasn't well understood at the time possibly was that people's sound systems weren't good enough to capture what was going on.
Remastering was mostly done by equalizing using Har-Bal. I tried to match the spectrum of the Japanese Agharta CDs, the best sounding documents of the time. I had to boost the lower treble considerably, amplifying also a lot of noise. It took me many hours to deal with it, but I hope you just won't notice now. No bad trickery involved, everything you hear was on the original tapes. Enjoy.

Original info file with corrected timings:
I got these shows on CD in a trade pre-2002, and hadn't listened to them until recently.
Extracted with EAC at the time, the extraction log is long gone, I'm afraid, but it sounds flawless in that sense.
No jitters, digital artifacts etc. I have retracked things, taken the general level of Ife up a bit, as it was a section on the tape and as a whole part was below the level of the rest. After that I slightly increased the volume of the left channel, as it was lower, then applied a very gentle EQ to the left channel only to lift the tops, also increasing the sense of balance addressed in part by the gain change.
So lineage is some thing like:
CDR > EAC extraction > iZotope RX (gain, EQ, slight remove of noise around 15kHz)> Audacity (track marks) > FLAC level8
