Lineage: AUD? > ? > Dime > channel volume alignment, elimination of dropouts, compression (jazzrita) > Remastering: equalization, noise treatment (rmtubs)
This is the second of three shows the Miles Davis Septet played at the Bottom Line in June 1975, not long before Miles' temporary retirement. A remastered version of the first concert (1975-06-10) was seeded some weeks ago as torrent #752353. This is the remastered version of the second show (the third one will follow). Compared with the day before, this show is more powerful, energetic and aggressive.
Many thanks to jazzrita for providing the source material which was shared on Dime in 2008/2009. The main step in remastering was equalization in Har-Bal, trying to approximate the overall spectrum of the Japanese edition of Agharta (the best-sounding official CD of that era). There was a lot of noise which I had to reduce layer by layer (with Izotope RX 10), alternating with equalization steps. The resulting improvement in sound quality is best heard when the "wall of sound" of the first twenty minutes has passed and the music gets softer. Now we can hear how incredibly good this music is. Definitely "the greatest Rock'n'Roll band in the world".

Sound is decent for an audience recording from this period.
According to Enrico Merlin this comes from a radio broadcast.
I had two nearly complete versions of this, and a version with large parts of the first and second set. This seed is a compilation of the best of what I have. There are some problems with the first tune of the second set. It has a few cuts and gaps, and I have made no attempts to correct this. I have another version without the cuts and gaps, but because of the lesser sound quality I did not include that one. This seed has the complete show. It is one of my personal favorites--one of the highlights of the period between 1972 and 1975.
