Miles Davis Sextet
December 16, 1970
Cellar Door Club
Washington, D.C,, USA

Soundboard recording, 57:40

Professional, 2-channel stereo mixdown from Columbia Records' multi-track, master reel issued to a few reviewers as a pre-release CD for an aborted box set (circa 2005).
Lineage: MR > HDD @48/96 > edits > stereo mix > downsample to 16/44.1 > CD > CDR > CDR

Miles Davis (tpt); Gary Bartz (ss, as); Keith Jarrett (el-p, org); Michael Henderson (el-b); Jack De Johnette (d)

Set 2 (reel 2)
2-1 Directions [nc] (8:54)
2-2 Yesternow (17:05)
2-3 What I Say (13:09)

Set 3 (Encore) (reel 3)
3-4 Medley: Funky Tonk > Sanctuary > The Theme (18:30)

Notes:
- reel 1 was possibly the first set which, according to my source, also includes a test recording made during the soundcheck. Distortion and fragmentation made this unsuitable for release
- the late start on reel 2 is due to the fact that the Columbia recording engineers were outside in a mobile truck with no visual cues as to what was going on in the club
