Working through TapeTyrant's master tapes for the phenomenal "TapeTyrant Master Series" revealed an additional cache of gems. His collection not only boasts an exceptional archive of masters, but it also includes an impressive array of uncirculated first-generation recordings and soundboards.
Since these rare gems can't be incorporated into the Master Series yet deserve recognition, we've devised a companion collection. Enter the "TapeTyrant Archive Series"a creative showcase featuring uncirculated soundboards, primarily first-generation audience captures, and unique upgradesall curated to share the full depth of TapeTyrant's archive.
In 1992, following Miles Daviss passing, Herbie Hancock spearheaded a tribute tour honoring the musical innovators legacy. This tour, titled A Tribute to Miles Davis, brought together members of the legendary Miles Davis "Second Great" Quintetpianist Herbie Hancock, saxophonist Wayne Shorter, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Tony Williamswith trumpeter Wallace Roney stepping in to evoke Miless distinctive sound.
This is an excellent SB of the performance at the Westbury Music Fair, thanks to Goody for the ongoing pitch assistance and closing a few gaps in the setlist.
We owe TapeTyrant a big debt of gratitude for allowing me the honor of mastering and sharing his archives with all of us in what I hope are the definitive editions.
Get into those closets, basements and attics and let's get those uncirculated captures and upgrades out...no tape left behind.
Artwork is included.
