Miriam's Well
Waterfront Blues Festival
Portland, OR.
July 3, 2011

Again the WBF went off with some big names in the music world. The non-profit radio station, KBOO, here in Portland did the broadcasting again and there were lots of problems this year, as in other years. Many drops in reception which I attemted to "fix". Not all were broadcast, which was a bummer, and some were just to rife with problems to save. So there are some bumps in the road, if you will, but over all some nice tunes are here. Of note, the Preston Shannon set, James Harmon, Bobby Radcliff, Chris Cain Band, Ty Curtis Band and of course Lucinda Williams. So enjoy & spread the shows around, twofthrs.

FM>H2 Zoom> HDD>FLAC>Dime All files were sector aligned.
Since I'm not familiar with a lot of these bands there will be some "unknowns" in the set list's.

"When you listen to hundreds of new releases every year, it's refreshing to hear one that has Soul and lots of feeling to it. Miriams Well hit that spot for me...Check it out!"
- The Big B.A. KINK Radio 101.9FM, Portland, OR

“Miriams Well is one of the most exciting bands to come out of Portland in a long time. Miriam’s unique soulful and bluesy voice is complemented and highlighted by the backing of a truly outstanding band...A force to be reckoned with..."
- Robyn Shanti, host of The Dharma Well on KBOO 90.7FM, Portland, OR

Miriams Well is a unique blend of rock and soul that holds echoes of decades gone by, when rock was raw, powerful and unprocessed. Singer and songwriter Mir German, doesn’t play a set so much as embody it, pulling the music from a deeper place – a well of sound and images, emotion and power, her voice riding a ragged edge of truth bringing depth and dimension to every song.

Mir and partner Mark Bowden, co-writer/producer/guitarist are an inseparable team of melody and groove. Miriams Well is their vision combined with the best musical talent Portland has to offer. What you get at a show isn’t just a performance...it’s an experience that dissolves the boundary between audience and band. It pulls you into the moment and holds you there.

Mir has performed at clubs and festivals throughout the US and Canada and was featured on MuchMusic in Canada. She has shared stages with Shawn Colvin, Carlene Carter, Spencer Davis, Taj Mahal, and Curtis Salgado to name a just a few.

Her first record, The New York Sessions (recorded in Woodstock, NY) featured guest appearances by bassist Brad Houser (Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians), drummer Eric Parker (Bonnie Raitt/Joe Cocker)and guitarist Adam Widoff (Lenny Kravitz).

A move westward to Portland, OR, and a series of recording sessions for a 2006 EP led to the formation of Miriams Well. A rising regional profile and radio airplay brought Mir to the attention of veteran songwriter Lee Garrett (“Signed, Sealed, Delivered”). The combined efforts of Lee, Mir and Mark have debuted with the full length CD, Indians and Clowns.
