Let's hop in the ol' time machine and travel back to 1986 for a really nice-sounding Monkees show from their wildly popular 20th anniversary tour.
I originally downloaded this show from DIME back in Feb. 2008 when it was shared by BootlegHuntr. Since the source files had some minor flaws (volume was a little low, tracking could have been better), I decided to "fix" these issues before burning the show to a CD. I think BootlegHuntr's version of the show sounded good to begin with, but after boosting the volume level of the show, I think the sound quality is even better since it's now even more dynamic.
Having said all that, I figured I'd share my "cleaned up" version of the show for those interested.
Now I'm fully aware that many of the "cool kids" won't even bother to sniff at this torrent because The Monkees are too "uncool" for them...or, perhaps, they're too cool for The Monkees! In any event, for many of us, The Monkees were a large part of the soundtrack to our younger years. And besides, if the band was really as lame as some people think, then why do so many people STILL love the band and the songs they sung? If you decide to grab this, enjoy!
Lastly, I noticed that this show's listing on the etree database has some differing opinions regarding the sound quality. I think you'll agree with me that the sound quality is very good (the vocals are very prominent, which I think is a good thing) and that this is a very worthwhile pickup. Even if Mike Nesmith wasn't there. And even if there's no "You Just May Be The One" or "Mary Mary" in the setlist (probably owing to Mike not participating).

Lineage (as provided by BootlegHuntr):
MSC > 3rd gen cass > flac
(Not sure what this meant exactly, but listen to the samples...this is clearly a SBD, not an AUD)
Additional lineage (TheCommish):
FLAC > FLAC Frontend > WAV > editing (see below) > FLAC Frontend > FLAC
Editing:
* Boosted volume of original source files (Nero wave editor)
* Re-tracked show (combined show in Nero, re-split with CD Wave)
* Applied small fade-ins/fade-outs at ends of show (Nero wave editor)
If you decide to download this show, won't you please consider posting a comment on the show's board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run.
My thanks again to BootlegHuntr for sharing the original, unedited version of the show in 2008.
