Quality - VG/VG- (taped from under my seat, front row center, noisy crowd and poor acoustics)
Quality of tracks 21a-21f - Fair to Poor (for obsessive completists only)

Lineage - master cassettes (Maxell XLII-90, Realistic stereo pocket recorder) > Soundforge > TLH

Originally my friend Greg and I had seats in the middle of the pavillion, but the day of the show Greg won front row seats in a call-in contest on WWSW-FM. This was much cooler for seeing the show, but it made taping problematic. Recording Jan & Dean (the opening act) wasn't quite so difficult, but security increased before the Monkees' portion of the show.

There was a problem with the recorder speed after the tape flip (as sometimes happened with certain Realistic stereo pocket recorders - when I flipped the tape it would start out recording at a much faster speed before settling down to normal, thus ruining the first few seconds or minutes of that side). Anyway, the second side of the tape was a mess. I was able to correct the speed (more or less) digitally, but there's a lot of warble that renders the tracks annoying to unlistenable. I've included those tracks for the completists.

There were no doubt other songs that didn't get recorded - (I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone" and "Daydream Believer" are conspicuously absent.
