Out of the roots of "Mission Mountain Wood Band" out of Spokane, Wa.

The great "Bluegrass/Country/Rock Band" that almost made it to be cut short with all of them dying in a plane crash to a gig.

10 Killed in Montana Plane Crash
Published: July 6, 1987

Firefighters hosing down the wreckage of a twin-engine plane that crashed Saturday night at Flathead Lake. All six members of the Montana Band, a bluegrass group, were killed in the crash, along with the pilot, a friend of the pilot, the band's road manager and the 12-year-old son of a band member. The musicians had played at the lake resort and were flying to Post Falls for another engagement.
