The Moody Blues
29 April 2011
Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion - The Woodlands, TX

Outdoor covered pavilion, seated about 18 rows back on the right-hand side

Recorded using Croaky-mounted Sound Professional Mini Cardioid mics (SP-CMC-19), Battery Box with no bass roll off (SP-SPSB-8), Zoom H2 at 44.1 kHz, 16 bit (Line-in jack)

Zoom H2 > wav files > Sony Soundforge 8.0 > Traders Little Helper > flac

Sony Soundforge was used to split the large wav file into tracks, fade in at the beginning and fade out at the end. A small cut was made during the encore break to eliminate excessive loud claps and yells. TLH was used to correct sector boundary errors and to convert to flac. No other mastering or processing was done.

Recording note: You could feel John Lodge's bass throughout the show in a very visceral way. The recording captures the rest the music well, but the impact of that bass just doesn't come through withb the cardiods.

A friend offered me his tickets about 2 weeks before the show because he couldn't make it. What a treat.

Hope you enjoy the show; we did.
