MORSE CODE
Paradise Theater
Boston, Mass. USA
April 13, 1983

For a brief period in early 1983, what would become the Steve Morse Band (SMB) was known as Morse Code. After the breakup of the Dixie Dregs, Morse's short-lived trio with bassist Jerry Peek and drummer Doug Morgan toured the eastern United States. Morgan subsequently left to pursue previous commitments, opening up the drummer spot for Dreg's alum Rod Morgenstein. Recording for SMB's debut album, "The Introduction," began in September 1983 with Peek, Morgenstein, and Morse.

This recording is from that early SMB incarnation with performances from the as yet to be recorded "The Introduction" (1984) and plenty of Dixie Dregs tunes. Among the many highlights is the rare and beautiful performance of T.O. Witcher from the Dixie Dregs' 1976 demo, "The Great Specatacular."

This one is a reseed-no changes except to add this udated infofile.

with this lineage: cassette > ?? > CDR > eac > WAV > Flac; not known if that comes from this same recording source but probably not).
