When the Mudcrutch shows were announced at the Fillmore I knew I had to grab tickets. My
last Petty experience was the Fonda Theater show in LA which was shut down by the fire dept.
Tickets went fast but I was able to score seats. This was a will call show and I was unsure
whether I needed to go to both especially after a third show was added at the Fox Theater.
There shows were all will call so it meant meeting pople early. I got to the Fillmore
district and watched the start of game 7 Warriors vs cavaliers championship series. I watched
most of the first half on TV then went to the line. I learned the Fillmore was now using wands
much to my dismay. They let the VIP package folks in first and then the regular line moved.
I beat security and got in to watch the end of the game. Once the Warriors blew it I went
down to my preferred spot. I enjoyed the opener and the intermission passed quickly. By this
point it was very crowded and Mudcrutch came out. I was amazed at how tight the band was and
really enjoyed seeing Petty not place the big hits. It was a solid show a bit over 2 hours.
On the way out I was looking forward to show number 2. Great performance and a nice capture of
a memorable show.
