this is a special one...
just realized that I'm taping shows in Berlin for 25 years.
First show I taped in Berlin was Alexis Korner and Climax Blues Band at the Waldbühne in June 81. The tape is long lost. (the very first recording and the only one until June 81 was Rory Gallagher at the Niederrheinhalle in Wesel, GER 23. Jan. 1973, sitting front row with a Philips cassette machine on my knees and a microphone in my hand.. also lost the tape,oh what a pity...)
I think this here was my second recording in Berlin... and what a show that was....
I have very solid memories about that show.
This man came out, just stood at the edge of the stage and smiled at the audience and the whole Tempodrom was filled with his aura.
Never experienced such an aura of an musician again.
OK must say that first seeingTom Waits did come close!
This is an audience recording, soundquality is OK, but if you're looking for high class quality just pass by. Just listening to it and it is still an enjoyable tape.
Recorded with my first mobile recording device, an AIWA walkman with built in mono microphone.
I remember I located the walkman on the seat next to me, so there's no handling noise on the tape.
Lineage: Master cassette tape >CD >EAC >FLAC (level 8, verify and align on sector boundaries) >tracker
