Recorded by: John Musgrave, Mark (the B-Man)-left mic and Mike Martin-right mic
2 Sennheiser MKH404 tu microphones > Sony D5 M > Revox B-77 (my copy) > Audigy 4 Pro @ 24/44.1 > (editing done with NERO and Audacity) >
Dithered to 16 bits with Audacity > Tracked with CD WAV > Converted to Flac with Traders Little Helper
This is another fine recording from the Universal Amphitheatre.
One of our favorite venues in Los Angeles as the acoustics were perfect for audience recordings.
The recording engineer on this concert was John Musgrave with Mark (the B-Man) and Mike Martin on the microphones.
Equipment was the Sony D-5 M cassette deck and two Sennheiser mkh-404tu microphones about 6 feet apart.
A bit of microphone shuffling noise can be heard in a few places.
Some volume adjusting in the applause sections to smooth out the transitions from pausing the recording between songs.
My guess is we only had one cassette so John tried to get as much as possible (and just barely captured the end of the last song).
The tape flip splice is at 4:08 of the second disc.
The master cassette was played back on my Akaii GX570-D2 w/ Dolby to my Revox B77 on Maxell UD-35 90 tape.
Transferred in 2007 to an Audigy 4 Pro sound card at 24/44.1.
A combination of NERO and Audacity wave editors were used for smoothing out these breaks.
Audacity performed the conversion to 16 bits.
CD Wav to cut tracks and Traders Little Helper for the flac conversion, fingerprint and checksum.
No EQ or Noise reduction (besides the Dolby on playback).
