THE NEW BARBARIANS :

Early April - 11th August 1979
This series is dedicated to The New Barbarians who played two concerts in Canada, eighteen shows across the United States in April and May 1979 and also supported Led Zeppelin at the Knebworth Festival 1979.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.

Line-up: RW (gtr, voc, harm, sax, pedal steel)/KR (gtr, voc, p)/Ian McLagan (p, org, bvoc)/Stanley Clarke (bass)/Bobby Keys (sax)/Joseph ‘Ziggy’ Modeliste (dr)

This recording is coming from the cd n°3 & 4 from ‘The Drug Dealer Tapes” (EVSD
198/199). They’re well known so I only shortened some in between silence or nearly inaudible studio banter.
I declicked the recording and slightly amplified some parts.
Note that the 2 first tracks from the CD n°3 (‘Let’s Go Steady Again’ and ‘Run Rudolph Run’) are from the Milwaukee soundcheck (cf. Vol 07) and we assume that the 3 last tracks from the CD n°4 (two unidentified instrumentals and Redeyes) are from the sessions for Ronnie Wood’s ‘1 2 3 4’ solo album and not from the New Barbarians.
