THE NEW BARBARIANS :

Early April - 11th August 1979
This series is dedicated to The New Barbarians who played two concerts in Canada, nineteen shows across the United States in April - May 1979 (and January 1980) and also supported Led Zeppelin at the Knebworth Festival 1979.
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows and who shared them and to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support ... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.

Line-up: RW (gtr, voc, harm, sax, pedal steel)/KR (gtr, voc, p)/Ian McLagan (p, org, bvoc)/Stanley Clarke (bass)/Bobby Keys (sax)/Joseph ‘Ziggy’ Modeliste (dr)

For this show we all had the same recording coming from a soundboard recording.
I used the one titled ‘Breathe On Me’ (BGS 199-3) because here the sound was already amplified (perhaps a little saturated but not as much as on ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive’) and some defaults from the other versions were absent (for example the noises in “Sweet Little Rock ‘n’ Roller” at 35 seconds or the microgaps).
I refocused the sound by synchronizing the 2 channels and I reworked the transitions between the tracks that now start with the song.
Note that this recording is incomplete. It starts with a fade in and ends with a fade out: the start of “Sweet Little Rock’n’Roller’ and the end of ‘Come To Realise’ are therefore missing and the end of the show too.
‘Buried Alive was in two parts and some seconds are lost.

As usual all the infos are taken from The Complete Works Of The Rolling Stones database by Nico Zentgraf: http://www.nzentgraf.de/books/tcw/works1.htm
