source: WWOZ-FM > Yamaha TX-900 vintage tuner > Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 (2nd generation) audio interface > USB > MacBook Air (M1 2020, OSX 14.4.1) > SoX > flac (44.1 kHz, 16bit) > iZotope RX 10 Advanced v10.4.0.1926 (see editing notes below) > X Audio Compression Toolkit 2.55 (tagged, sector boundaries repaired) > flac

Editing notes:
* At 1.2 seconds at 4:07 into Track 4, I replaced a broadcast dropout with a 6-second splice from a similar passage (that's far from perfect);
* 14.2-second station ID at 7:50 into Track 4, moments after the applause starts, barely a second after the last note fades. I applied a fade, but it's pretty abrupt. I removed the ID and faded in the next song;
* I removed another 14.2-second station id at 5:19 into Track 6. I replaced it with a second of silence and applied fades;
* There was an 11-second station ID at 4:26 into Track 9 that I replaced with a second of silence and then applied fades;
* At 5:39 into Track 10, before the song even began to fade out, there was a long, 72-second station ID that similarly interrupted the beginning of the next song. I applied fades and a moment of silence between songs;
* A -45db notch filter was used to remove the 19kHz FM pilot tone; and
* The entire recording was normalized by 1.81 db then the left channel was boosted another 0.27 db, leaving about 0.10 db head room.

Notes:
New Orleans Jazz Vipers were scheduled to play the Economy Hall Tent from 2:10 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. on the second Thursday of the 2024 Jazzfest. They were the final act of the day on the Economy Hall tent, as all stages shut down about that time, ahead of the Rolling Stones appearance later that afternoon on the main stage.

This over-the-airwaves FM broadcast was recorded (and edited) by Richard Russell (nolataper) in New Orleans. It is not from the online mp3 live stream.
