This show may already be circulated on etree, but bigdaddybflo thinks not. He has asked me to post it due to the death of Buddy Cage, the pedal steel player.

A nice story was related to me about how this recording came to be.

The Chatauqua Belle is a steam paddleboat built in 1976 for the American Bicentenniel. NRPS was playing in the WNY area the day before this show and BDB was there. He knows their manager Captain Toast, who told him they were going to be playing on ther Chatauqua Belle in Mayville the next night and why don't you join us. When told he was welcome to record it he went. Less than 50 people were there, and afterwards the guys in NRPS told him they felt it was the best they ever played. This posting should be a fitting tribute to Buddy both for performance and uniqueness/rarity.

You can hear the steam whistle of the boat periodically on the tape. Recorded with mics taped to a pole 10 feet from the band.
