boombox's notes july 2024:
This was my first time seeing a band in a venue more usually utilised for big theatre productions, but the sound was excellent and the larger stage and lighting rig meant I had no complaints. All the band were on good form and though the setlist was similar to last year's, we did get 'Scarecrow' and 'Remember Me', complete with lead vocals by Syd himself via a backing track. For me, the two stand-out tracks on the night were the two set closers, probably also influenced by aforementioned light show accompanying the music so well.

The two 'Soundscape' tracks aren't as long as they might be as I had a very chatty security guard stood right next to me while they were playing, so I have trimmed them. Nick's drums were very high in the mix, but the sound was generally very good, with minimal audience interference getting in the way either. I added a touch of upper mids just to get it all a little brighter and used a little compression to bring up the overall levels. Of the three Saucers shows I've recorded over the years, this one is probably the best I have got. I just wish I'd taken a camera with me, rather than having to rely on a camera phone for pictures and video.
