NIGHT OF DRUMS
2. Regionale Trommelnacht, 18th Oct 2003, Neubausaal, Schwbisch Hall, Germany, AUD

RESEED BY REQUEST (no changes being made except the new text file).

Label: none
Sound quality: AUD tape (DAT) > audacity > you

This is the complete recording of the second regional night of the drums in the beautiful medieval heart of Schwbisch Hall, Germany.

Unfortunately the first festival (in 2002) wasn't recorded at all because the usual suspect taper (me) preferred to attend the annual Guru Guru show in Stuttgart (and what a show it was) and the "other one" was too much involved
in the organization of the then chaotic festival to press any recording button.

The second festival was well organized and took place in a big medieval hall (you will hardly find a bigger one anywhere) with a much better acoustic situation than the first festival a year before.
So here it is:
Most of the announcements, long instrument tuning and breaks have either been erased or were not recorded.
Some fades now and then (but no big deal).
What is left are more than four (4!) hours of fantastic music!
The sound is very dynamic and good to listen to but painfully there is some digital noise now and then (but all in all
not too disturbing).
No overdubs have been added. The running order is exactly as it was (with only one exception*).
I seperated each performance on one extra CD. Feel free to connect them as you like (for example CD 1 & 2 togethger or CD 3 & 4 together on one CD are no problem).
You may also download only a part of the Festival if you are only interested in one show or the other...
Just do as you like and enjoy the magic of planet drum!

CDs 1 - 6 feature mainly drum and percussion musicians from all over the world (see description below).
All the international musicians involved here were living in South Germany at the time of the recording (and most of them still are). The night was full of authentic traditional music from Asia, South America and Africa as well as fusion of all kinds.

CD 7 is a very fine performance of sitar and tabla music which closed this exciting and sometimes ecstatic night in a
more contemplative way (long after midnight).
