Taper's Comments:

1 - HELP!! If you have any uncirculated SPIRIT shows, or better quality FM
broadcasts than what's been posted here before, please share them. If you
know anybody who has shows that fit this category that aren't on DIME, please
dub off their stuff and share it. I'm trying to write a book on SPIRIT and need
all the information I can get. I have a database of over 1500 gigs 1967-1996, and
want to find as much information as I can to add to it. If you have any memories
of where you saw SPIRIT, the more specific the better (venue, city, date, supporting
bands, etc.), I'd love to know that as well. Please leave that in the comments
section or PM me. Thank you!

2 - Show description & comments follow:

This is literally the first concert I ever recorded. I'm actually quite surprised years
later than it turned out as well as it did. I held the recorder in my left hand as high
as I could over my left shoulder as not to draw attention to myself. I remember a
security guy looking at me strangely, but he did nothing. I figured in the future I
needed to get an outboard microphone. I also learned I needed to get a watch, or
be certain I was with somebody who had one, so I wouldn't blow the tape flips.

Here's Washington DC local legends THE NIGHTHAWKS with their special guest,
Luther "Guitar Jr." Johnson, from the MUDDY WATERS BLUES BAND. The Roy
Buchanan portion of the show sounded much better, but how many shows have
you seen where the opening act sounded as good as the headliner? The mix
sure could have been improved on some songs, and at times, the bass was
crushing. Still, how many tapes do have you have of Guitar Jr. with THE
NIGHTHAWKS? Enjoy.
