I have more of the background story on this. I chatted with the person (Paul Petroskey) who had the master tape. I asked him some questions. He said the original cassette walkman broke, and he threw it away. He’s not sure exactly what make or model it was. Paul no longer owns the cassette and that the master tape was sold for an undisclosed amount to the Live Nirvana Community, (because he needed money to have repairs made to his car). The concert was recorded by Paul's brother-in-law, using a MAXELL UR 90 minute cassette, on side B only.
Side A was a live recording of the Pittsburgh band Sludgehammer. This explains why the Nirvana recording is only 45 minutes.
The Live Nirvana Community reached out to Paul in March 2017 and made the recording available to the public on July 16, 2017.
