NOTES:
The North Mississippi Allstars' episode of Beautiful Noise has previously been
uploaded to Dime in DVD format on 23th August 2008 by tgunn2760, torrent now dead;
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=211024
However, the previous version is listed as 45 minutes long whereas this
version (the audio) is ~52 minutes without the intro, interviews and end credits.
I haven't seen or heard the previous version so I can't tell what song(s) are
included in this version compared to the previous version.

NOTES ON SONG RESEARCH:
Intensive research has revealed, rightly or wrongly, the following details
about the songs performed (and big thanks go out to aikox2 who posted in the
above-mentioned thread on 26th August 2008 giving additional detail on the
song names);
Mississippi Bollweevil - original NMA from Electric Blue Watermelon album 2005
Hurry Up Sunrise - original NMA from Electric Blue Watermelon album 2005
Ship - - original NMA from 51 Phantom album 2001
Georgia Women - traditional, recorded by R.L. Burnside
http://blueslyrics.tripod.com/artistswithsongs/r_l_burnside_1.htm
Po Black Maddie - R.L. Burnside credited as Poor Black Mattie
http://blueslyrics.tripod.com/artistswithsongs/r_l_burnside_1.htm
Skinny Woman - R.L. Burnside (adaptation of Sonny Boy Williamson 1st's
song of same name?)
Horseshoe - original NMA from Electric Blue Watermelon album 2005
Freedom Highway - written by Roebuck "Pops" Staples, recorded by Mavis Staples
Mean Ol' Wind Died Down - original NMA from Electric Blue Watermelon album 2005
Po' Boy - traditional, recorded by Bukka White in 1963 as Poor Boy Long Way
From Home (aka lots of other titles)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poor_Boy_Blues
Snake Drive - original NMA from Hill Country Review album 2004

Researching blues songs, especially those credited as 'traditional', is very
difficult because of the nature of 'the blues' in general. No-one has every
copyrighted the basic three chords and it's been generally accepted as a blues
tradition (until relatively recently anyway) that it's pretty much ok to
adapt and modify chord stucture and lyrics of a particular song to suit each
person who might perform a 'traditional' blues song.
As noted above, Po Black Maddie seems to have been written by R.L. Burnside
(who was friend and inspiration to the Dickinson brothers) but titled Poor
Black Mattie. However, given that this song was recorded as Po Black Maddie
by NMA on their 2000 album Shake Hands With Shorty, and again in conjuntion
with Skinny Woman on 2004's live album Hill Country Review, I feel it's safe
to name it as NMA recorded it.
Poor Boy Long Way From Home is a bit more complicated. Bob Dylan wrote a song
called Po' Boy which appeared on his 2001 album Love And Theft, but this is not
the song performed by NMA in their Beautiful Noise performance. A Google search
for 'po boy lyrics' returns mostly Bob Dylan's song. Digging a bit deeper I
found Wikipedia's entry for Poor Boy Blues
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poor_Boy_Blues
and so, to avoid confusion with Dylan's song, I have named this song Poor Boy
Long Way From Home. It seems that NMA have never recorded this song for official
release.
