~ In re the aesthetic value of the recordings, Folklife rules apply. To wit, one will at times hear people talking during performances, people coming and going during performances, aeroplanes flying overhead, gusts of wind, crying babies, music bleeding from adjacent venues, emergency-vehcile sirens, and so on and so forth. While one needn't live in apoplectic fear of imminent annoyance, nor should one be utterly shocked when it does occur. (Truth be told, the annoyances seemed much less frequent this year than usual.)
