Norton Buffalo (born Phillip Jackson), was a harmonica player and song writer who played with the likes of Elvin Bishop, Commander Cody, Steve Miller, Bonnie Raitt, the Doobie Brothers, Mickey Hart, Merl Saunders, and others. He continued to perform in clubs in the Bay Area throughout the 1990s and 2000's. More info here: https://www.nortonbuffalo.com/knockouts.html

This came on one of a pair of DATs. This DAT was labelled "Liberators 12/08/95 + Norton Buffalo". The second DAT was labelled "Liberators 12/09/95". Newspaper ads and concert listings confirm that The Liberators opened for Norton Buffalo and the Knockouts at the Mystic Theater on Saturday, the 9th of December, and that another band played there on the 8th. It's clear from comments on the this recording that it's from the Mystic and therefore the 9th is probably correct.

Enjoy!
